Calm or Nervous Digestion in Human Design
In Human Design, there are twelve different types of digestion. Your Human Design digestion type will tell you how you're designed to consume. The types of food that are best for you and the setting in which you eat. You can locate your digestion in the chart properties under the section that says ‘Digestion’.
Is your Human Design digestion calm, nervous or buzzing? In that case you are designed to consume based on external conditions.
Calm Touch Digestion
With calm touch digestion, it's important for you to only eat in environments that feel calm to you. You might find it difficult to focus on your meal when your surroundings feel chaotic. It may be helpful to limit noise, activity and interaction. You might even develop a preference for eating alone. And that's totally okay, because that’s how you are designed to be.
Buzzing or Nervous Touch Digestion
With buzzing or nervous touch digestion, it's important for you to eat in environments that feel active. You are looking for lots of sound, activity and interaction. Your digestive system is buzzing, that’s why you may find it difficult to sit through an entire meal. It’s possible that you prefer eating standing up, talking on the phone, walking around, or even driving. You might find it takes you a while to finish meals because you get so distracted. That’s okay, just leave your meal and then come back to it later. It's okay for you to release societal expectations around what meal time is supposed to look like. Just do you, because eating according to your design helps you optimize brain function.
